Sport Mundi with José María Olazábal as its president is a non-profit association founded in 2009 with the goal to raise money for charitable projects benefiting children in need. Funds are raised through numerous sports activities and social events.
The Rafa Nadal Foundation was set up in 2008 by Rafael Nadal and his mother, Ana María Parera, with the aim to help socially-disadvantaged children who run the risk of exclusion by society and offer them a better life. Through educational and sports programs the Foundation promotes personal and social integration and positive values: effort, overcoming, companionship, etc.
Pula Golf was founded in 1995 and was redesigned for tournament golf in 2004 by José María Olazábal. Pula Golf has been the host of seven European Tour tournaments and is the current venue of the Olazábal & Nadal Invitational. In 2016, the golf course was voted among Spain’s Top 10 by Golf Digest.

MACARENA DE CASTRO
Known as ‘La Mallorquina’, Maca de Castro runs the Jardin restaurant together with her family in Puerto de Alcudia on Mallorca island. She has over 18 years of experience and earned a Michelin star in 2012. Maca is supporting the Olazabal & Nadal Invitational for the fifth year now.
Santi Taura is, above all, an artisan of cooking, a chef by trade. Better a passionate cook. The desire to differentiate from others along with the need to exploit his creativity and ambition made him choose the gastronomy world. Lover of Mallorca, of its ingredients, traditions, recipes and landscapes.
Which pro will play in my team?
Thursday evening during dinner, José María and Rafa will be conducting a live draw to allocate the Pros to the Amateur teams for Friday´s round. The draw will be repeated Friday evening for Saturday´s final round. No Pro will play twice with the same Amateur team.
One Amateur Team of three plays with one Pro. The best two net scores per hole count towards the individual Team ranking and the overall Team Olazabal vs. Team Nadal competition.
Lunches take place at Pula Golf right after the round.
We are delighted that star chef Maca de Castro will be supporting us at the event again with her culinary mastery. Time and location of the dinner functions will be announced at the event. Dress code for dinners will be smart casual.
